Stayed here for a long weekend while in Grermany for the Sidecarcross Grand Prix, what a charming and lovely wee Hotel, set in woodlands down a narrow lane, rooms were clean tidy and roomy, breakfasts were excellent, faclities were excellent, and the hostess was more than helpful, looks like an old Hunting Lodge, rooms all had balconies, and views over the gardens and fish ponds were lovely, quiet, secluded and welcoming, as well as being good value

What a fantastic Hotel!!!

After a strenuous bike tour, we were very friendlyly welcomed at the Hotel Waldhaus and were able to park our bikes in a locked garage. The room was rustic, cozy, the bed comfortable with a good mattress. The bathroom - although 70s style - was spacious and lightning-clean. A very tasty dinner with beer and wine rounded off the good first impression. The next morning we were looking forward to a rich breakfast and would have liked to stay even longer, because the hotel with a great garden, in the forest, nice owners and a reliable catering house really stayed for longer.

I'd love to see you again.

Family friendly hotel and restaurant

Mespelbrunn is famous for its water castle in the forest of Spessart.The family hotel is well off the castle in the forest.The proper rooms and traditional restaurant with the right menu of the day.They have a mini fish factory for trout.We just went to sleep and dinner.The owner is very nice but I wouldn't return.

Family site in the woods

We stayed in this hotel in transit. It gives perfect value for your money. A quiet place just 15 min away from the highway. The room looked like it was just fully refurbished, everything was in pristine condition. Breakfast included, friendly staff, balcony, good beds, free WiFi. This is an excellent place for a very low price!

Best value for money 

We first stay in this hotel in October 2015 and returned this year. We were looking for an overnight stop near the autobahn but somewhere quiet, what a find. Within 5 minutes off the E3 you are in a delightful little town in the Bavarian forest. The hotel is typical German chalet design rooms are clean and comfortable no noise, you'll get a good night sleep. I've left the best bit until last the host are a lovely couple she speaks English he is a very good cook. In the evening we had a lovely meal fresh trout from their own fish pond. It's popular with the locals which adds to the whole experience. Love the hotel.

Very pleasant night

Stayed here one night on our road trip from UK to Greece, a great location on the edge of the forest and not too far from the autoroute. Great welcome when we arrived and taken to a spacious comfortable and spotlessly clean room with good size bathroom. We ate in the restaurant where the menu was explained to us, the evening special was trout which was cooked to perfection. After a very comfortable night's sleep we enjoyed a great breakfast before driving on. The hosts were excellent and I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended the hotel to friends.

After two days we left this hotel again (we were travelling with a group of 10 people) and decided unanimously that we would no longer be able to offer such a bad service to a very unfriendly owner for no reason. It seems that foreign guests are not welcome in this hotel even if they come from neighbouring Austria. We were very directly asked why a gentleman from our travel group had an Arabic name, had to pay cash in advance on the spot and even this escape from our side, we had to continue to have to ask ourselves unusual questions about the hotel. Furthermore, the legal and paid WLAN connection on the second evening no longer works.

A groundless freak!

Absolutely loved this hotel, slightly quirky rooms with huge balcony that overlooks the garden at the back.  The food we ate here was the best we had in the whole time we spent in Germany and Austria.  The landlady was very welcoming and even stood and translated nearly the whole menu for us into English, would definitely visit again.
