we travelled to Amsterdam with the understanding that we had our accommodation paid for. That's where the fairy tale ends.  The day we travelled we received a txt to say our key was in the box at the door, however it wasn’t. 

We called to number provided (which doesn't even work) over and over with no answer.  after talking with a few of the B&B owners and hotel owners on the street, they advised me that the "hotel" has been getting renovated for last few months and a number of people in my situation have also been caught out. 

We ended up booking the ibias styles just around the corner with booking.com and thank god we did. 

This hotel is now sending me an email asking who my stay was lol.  I have requested a refund from them and will be taking legal action if not provided as this is theft and fraud.

We were told that they key was in the box at the door, however it wasn’t. Called and messaged the number provided, but heard nothing back. After waiting around for about 4 hours we went to a different hotel arranged through Booking.com. Hotel never ever got back to us even to apologies. Total sham and completely disrespectful, wasted a whole day waiting for noting!

I stayed in November 2021.The place has no concierge, a few days before they mail you a key with which you open a box that is in the door of the building with the key to the apartment.While the room is comfortable, as it has a freezer and electrical rack, one point to highlight is that the bathroom door is in the style with ventilation grids, with which the privacy was zero.Another point against is the location, as it is far from the center, this implies that you take a tram to get there.Would you like?No, I would choose a more central place.Either way, the place is beautiful.

Away from the center.

The people who run Bell's Boutique are deceitful, money grabbing and untrustworthy. Before booking I inquired by email how far it was to walk from Bell's Boutique to the Amsterdam Conservatorium as the purpose of our visit was for my daughter to have three consultation lessons with three piano professors at the Conservatorium on three separate days. Top priority was for our Airbnb to be in easy walking distance. I received a reply by email with a smiley that it was a 15 minute walk from the Airbnb to the Conservatorium which I found acceptable, so I  booked. When we got there after some delays arriving at the airport it turned out it was a 37 minute walk following google maps to reach the Conservatorium. On the first day my daughter was late for her lesson and on the second day we hired bikes to cover the distance.  Unfortunately we each had our bag stolen from our bikes while we were riding them. Two new iPhones, bank cards and the keys to access the Airbnb plus personal items were all gone. It was an unbelievable mess to sort out with a substantial financial fall out, and this incident severely compromising what would have otherwise been a delightful trip. The host never turned up after the keys were lost. We had to find an alternative way of getting in. 

For me the theft of our stuff was a consequence of being lied to by the host as we would not have hired bikes had the information been correct. I guess they lied to me as they wanted the booking. Apparently, stealing from bikes that are being ridden is 'normal' in Amsterdam and to be expected. Well, we were naive and didn't know.

The room itself was basic, the coffee creamer old and unusable, and if you're of a normal or slightly bigger size you won't be able access the shower as you will not fit through the shower door, its' too narrow. The stairs going up to the rooms are extremely steep which was fine for us as we are very small and slight but somebody with physical difficulties will struggle. Needless to say, the location is absolutely not central, whatever they tell you!
Don't bother with Bell's Boutique there are better rooms, nicer hosts and far more practical locations to be had in Amsterdam. People like them should not be in this business.

AVOID. Terrible, untrustworthy people.

We had asked for a room with 2 big beds, and in the end we end up with only 1 bed, an absolutely wet and de-glazed room, a ubiquitous smell of urine, etc... After a lot of requests for toilet paper and a toilet towel, NO answer. You can run for a reply from them (they aren't even here to welcome you to the hotel). The only positive point is the location, the rest is absolutely horrible. I can't get into the details because there are too many things to say, but with all the kindness I have NOT RESERVED HERE...

Don't ever book here.

My girlfriend and I reserved a  room for 2 nights at Bell's Boutique hotel in Amsterdam.  We are traveling to istanbul and had a long layover. 30 minutes later, we discovered that US citizens aren't allowed to leave the airport due to covid restrictions.  I immediately messaged Bell's Boutique and canceled.  The room was $80 per night. I was charged $160. They refunded less than $50 and refused to reconsider despite the booking having occurred less than an hour before the cancelation. Given the short time and national covid restrictions beyond our control,  this seems incredibly inflexible and indicates the care and thoughtfulness that this establishment exhibits towards its guests. I am Surprised and disappointed.

When we checked in we were offered a complimentary drink which was a nice touch after travelling. Reception area is quirky and relaxing. The room itself was over the road in a separate building. Our room was cosy and clean and we always managed to get a good nights sleep. Free WiFi in the rooms. The hotel is only around 10-15 minutes walk to get to everything so we walked everywhere. Good value for money and would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Enjoyable stay

A good hotel, located quite close to the busy areas of Amsterdam (15 minutes on foot), well connected with various trams and a very quiet area, the hotel is quite clean and the managers are very good people, I recommend taking into account the prices of the city.

Comply with everything.

The people who run this hotel are very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself is more like student accommodation (used to be).  The reception area, in the café opposite, is cosy and serves a good breakfast, but the room we had was plain and uninviting.   No staff in the main hotel was most apparent when we were woken up at 4 am by young men returning drunk and shouting and laughing outside our room.  

We had problems with the heating and looked in vain for an extra blanket during the night.  The room was never really warm, although they did fix the heating the next day.  The bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a couple of wooden louvred doors, so no privacy, and the shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom.  The kettle took around 10 minutes to boil.

We had some difficulty finding the hotel at first, so it's essential to read their instructions very carefully if you do choose it.

Lovely people, but poor hotel

We stayed in the block opposite the main reception. Staff were very nice and offered us drinks from the cafe on arrival.The room was lovely and had everything we needed, the bathroom could have been slightly more private as it had shutter doors, but it didn't bother us too much. The hotel location is pretty good, we walked there from the train station which was quite long but doable, and we spent the whole trip travelling from the hotel on foot. Overall was a nice place to stay, good value for money and I would recommend.
