I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy either. Dirty rooms, bad smell everywhere to the point of darte arcades, shared bathroom with 7 rooms with mud (we didn't dare to use it) the room door or the closet well... the bed had bed bugs and the sheets I don't think were clean, summing up a lot of dirt. The reservation we made was for a hostel with the same name and with the photos of the hostel, on arrival we were told that it wasn't there and we were ordered to stay in it somehow, in which we couldn't sleep for obvious reasons of hygiene. A total because we paid for a hostel and we can't pension to call it in any way. I wouldn't go back or recommend anyone who occupies a night there.

It's a terrible thing to do.

At first I thought it was a 4-star hotel, my aunt Eugenia had recommended it to me, but when I arrived I realized that there are only perrflautas and starving mvertos in the hotel I would recommend if you are a vagabond.The disappointing truth was, there was a cheap pvta and the receptionist came in to brush our room's teeth, unacceptable.

In disagreement with the place

Really disappointing. Small, dirty, disreputable room with old bedding and a strong scent of air conditioning cheap to hide the lack of hygiene and maintenance. If they had charged me 20€, I would have said that the low quality corresponded to the price, but pay 50€, price which some 3-star hotels charge. The excuse of being close to the center should not serve to offer a cutter service and not respect the basic rules of hygiene and maintenance of a hostel.

It's hard to think of anything worse.

This hostel has the advantage that it is in a strategic position: in front of the Reina Sofia museum, next to Atocha station so well communicating with the rest of the city (although personally I have always moved on foot). The rooms are not too bad too and the bathroom (in common) always quite clean. My experience has not been negative but just because I was out all day and I returned very tired only to sleep.

Just to sleep.

I never discussed, this was the exception. Pay for a room that was not given to me and I told the gentleman and what he told me was that it was my fault that I was late! And in fact I arrived early. Even if it had been late, my room had to be reserved because it was what he paid for. And I told him that if a room like that was unoccupied, he would change me and he told me that no more than the rest of the rooms were occupied for the same number of days that I had left. And that if I wrote a review, it would not matter to them because they were still working the same, that no more than the balls.

Malisimo is the name of the game.

We are backpackers and we are usually used to all kinds of hotels, for the price of course the facilities can't be a big deal but what I didn't like was that for us to keep our backpacks they wanted to charge us 2 euros for each, which is a small amount, but look that I have been to hotels all over Europe and this is the first time that they ask me for money for armor guards and on top only until 5 pm and if he notices that he didn't want us to leave there, then we decide to take them to Atocha station which charged us 3.10 for two and until 10 pm.

A not very pleasant treatment.

If you want the cheapest, you have the least. It's complaining about complaining. It's true that a dirty place has no excuse, but it's not what I've found there at all. The location is excellent and to spend a night at that price is enough. If you want more comfort just pay more... somewhere else.

Ideal accommodation for couples who want to live in the centre of Madrid and are looking for affordable accommodation.

Central, clean, cheap

ESP: Como una habitación de hospital. Viejo y pequeño. Vale que es para pasar una sola noche, pero podía estar más cuidado.

ENG: Like a hospital room. Old and small. Ok, it is to spend one single night, but the keeping could be better.

This was a terrible experience. I had read some bad reviews, but I was only staying one night, I know Madrid really well and knew this was centric and my sister and I wanted a cheap accomodation close to the train station so we could leave early... but I would have paid a lot more or gone farther away just to save ourselves from this disaster. 
We arrived from a 20 hour flight, with stopovers, really exhausted, coming from a warm place to freezing Madrid, and found out we didn´t have a room!!!! We did have the reservation, we were supposed to have our room, but they said some girl (this is disgusting) suck her tampon in the toilet and the hostel flooded and we couldn´t have our room. We saw the hostel, there was no flood, it was smelly, but probably a normal smell, and what we believe is that they gave our room to someone else. So they send us, with all our bags after carrying them up many stairs, to an awful hotel on another street. You have no idea what a disgusting claustrophobic smelly place. 
The worst experience I´ve probably ever had in a hostel. And they charged us more money than the actual price!  
I strongly recommend you never to book and of course never ever stay at Rivera or their friends.
