We booked the hotel for 1 night at the hotel from 29.01.22-30.01.22.It was horrible,we dint stay at the hotel at all called prior and told we will not be coming to stay and still charged me the full amount.
I will take this gurther if i get no response from the management.

Horrendous

The cleaning service is horrible, I don't understand how they haven't closed the hotel, they have a rat plague, they know it but they don't get it!!. when I said it, they told me they already knew it... the atmosphere of the pub was unimaginable, it was scary for the people who had it. the truth is that almost all the guests were local, I'm surprised that no tourists were ubiquitous, it was a mistake.

A nightmare! dirty and dangerous.

The website for this hotel is an absolute lie. Please DO NOT stay here!
The Thai restaurant advertised beneath this hotel is now a discount store.
Flyers on the windows indicate that 'residents and deliveries should use the side entrance' - The 'reception area' is akin to the office of a budget end 2nd hand car sales room. 
Once given your key - you make your way past a sign that states 'please forgive our appearance whilst we make improvements to the hotel' I wonder how long this has been in the stairwell as I believe these improvements are long overdue. 
So to my room. Having evaded the large bags of linen scattered across the hallway I opened the door to a stained, dirty smelling, basic double room. The only positive was the towels that were pure white! The duvet however was grey! The carpet was brown with black stains, the walls were covered in mould and mildew and the curtains may not have been washed in many months. 
The wardrobe in my room was, interestingly, held together by Sellotape and the cracks in the ceiling made you wonder if you would actually make it through the night. 
My colleague slept on a bed that was actually falling apart, thank goodness he was alone. 
You may ask why I actually stayed at the hotel and I asked myself that very question, especially whilst I lay listening to the endless motor horns and sirens playing their tragic London tune. I stayed because this was a business trip and this had been booked for me and by the time I arrived it was too late to change hotel. 
My advice would be that you stay anywhere but here.

Awful

We slept x 3 nights at Chippenham and I have to say that, all in all, I have seen worse rooms. I say rooms because the common areas are a little degraded but no guests sleep in the hallways! At least I, you don't know! The room was always clean and tidy as required, the all-Italian staff very available and friendly (they make you Italian coffee on request and advise on the easiest way to get to the most beautiful parts of London), I have not heard any strange noise at night and the area is easily reached by metro (5 minutes' walk) and several bus lines 10 seconds from the hotel. Check in late at night and check out late in the morning, want more x to take advantage of every minute in London?

First time in London

I'm usually not a complainer, but the Chippenham Hotel was easily the very worst hotel I've ever stayed in. There is no check in or check out desk. There is no staff over night. I'm almost certain that I was the only person staying in the hotel, and when the fire alarms started going off at 3 AM, it sounds ridiculous, but I had no idea what to do, so I went back to sleep. 
On the middle setting, the shower cycled from scalding hot to ice cold, so showering meant that I had to patiently wait for that ten or fifteen seconds of tolerable temperatures. needless to say, it took a while to shower each day.
The folks who worked in the pub below were great, but given that they weren't there during the night or pre noon, it caused some potential difficulties.

Great staff, but horrible accommodations

One always wonder why, if you don't want to spend a fortune in London, you either have to choose to share your room with other people or to sleep with mould on the ceiling in some horrible places. This was a typical example of the second case: an awful, awful place.

We stayed here as it was a great location to stay during notting hill carnival, plus we had tickets for deviation at paradise in kensal green. We weren't expecting much, just a roof over our heads and a decent bed.

The hotel from the outside looked like a pub that had closed down and the entrance to the hotel was via the back door. We checked in and headed towards our room. Above the staircase was a hole in the ceiling, it was obvious that plans had started for a refurbishment, but nothing had been done yet.

Our room was ok, kinda clean and was what we expected for the price we paid. Bed was surprisingly comfy but the shower was either freezing cold or scolding hot. Breakfast well... we decided to pass. 

Also, my girlfriend had left her glasses behind and I wasn't able to get a response to find out if they'd been found, seems like they don't really care?

In all it could be a great hotel but needs work, soon!

Great Location -

The Chippenham Hotel is NOT a hotel at all. When I arrived at the address I was told that the hotel had been closed for months; in fact, the exterior of the building already foretold everything. It is completely to be renovated, old, worn out and decadent. Do not trust the beautiful photos at all because they are not realistic. It falls to pieces of paper, with broken walls, real holes in the ceiling; in fact, in the room, even on the ceiling, there was a ceiling.

It's scary.

We stayed four nights, the room was really dirty, the pressure faucet to brush our teeth, the walls stained with water leaks and electrical systems with wires flying the stairs to climb the broken floors, we had two windows of which the first was blocked by paint and the second could not be closed, so it looked like an abusive hotel nonexistent even the staff, as well as the rest of the breakfast. Fortunately I was convinced that with Italian management it was decent but the hostels are definitely better.

You can't call it a hotel.

Five minutes from the Maida Vale subway to Trafalgar Square 15 minutes from one stop. It's basically a pub with three upper floors offering accommodation. A clean room with shower, toilet, teacup and teacup. Clean, give new towels and cookies. If you're lazy and tired of walking around the city, you can go down to the pub, drink, eat and chat with ordinary Londoners. Once a week they throw a party before midnight, no later. On the second floor there's a loud noise - there's no more.
