The rooms of a prison are undoubtedly more spacious is more comfortable. Covered with dirty and rough wool, the entrance door is not thick and wooden, the closet is dirty and therefore impossible to arrange clothes that have been for the entire duration of the holiday in the suitcase.

What a messy place to stay!

The room is the size of a matching box. Number one, which we got, is in the basement room. A terrible smell of moisture and cloudiness. A small window under the ceiling to open or close it - you have to become feet on the head of the bed. The floors are dirty - hair, stains.... It's clear that no one has washed the floor here for a long time.

It's awful.

The main pros of village guesthouse barco are the price of the rooms and the location. The hostel is located at the heart of Madrid, just off the main shopping street, and costs only around 40 euros per person per night. What is also nice is that it has two bathrooms for 8 rooms and a fully equipped kitchen including a washing machine. 

The rooms are clean but very small and basic. Our bedding was very soft but the other furniture was so so. The room did have a TV but we didn't check vto see if it worked. Downsides of the room were that it was easy to hear the neighbors conversation through the walks and that the faucet dripped constantly. It also leaked from places that shouldn't be possible. 

The shared bathroom was not that clean, very small and it was impossible to hang the showerhead from the wall. Another suggestion for improvement is the check in policy. Check in starts at 3 and it was not possible to leave our bags at the hostel before hand as there isn't a front desk. We left our bags at Locker City down the street and called to check in in the afternoon. A lady came to hastily show us our room and she left within a minute, without even showing the bathroom or kitchen. Village guesthouse barco is an okay stay if you don't plan on spending any time in your room aside from sleeping and if you value budget over comfort. 

Cheap but ok

The hostel has no reception, so when you arrive, you need to wait for them to open, but no longer than 15 minutes.

Agradable 

The guy who received us was less than kind, quite rude and arrogant, with holes in our sheets, we were right to sleep, but it was a trick, not recommended, and given that there was no reception, call to stay and deliver the keys if you can the day before.

So that there is no return.

The  little lady that cleans the  hostel  welcomed me  here like it was her own, gave to me  sparkling clean room with  a sink and  toilet  in front.  it has all I can ask for, tv, cable, good wifi, air contidion, a fan  in the ceiling,  good kichen with a large fridge and  space for 4 people to sit for a breakfast, quiet and situated  3 minute walk to  gran via or stores and restaurants  as one can wish for, highly recomended, just be sure to contackt the  owner before coming since there is no reception, all on internet, works fine.

Peaceful small room for a good price

A nice, simple, economical and very centrally located room, enough to spend a few days in Madrid and enjoy the city centre just two steps away, next to the primark gran via with the best location almost impossible.

I stayed in this guest house one night with my boyfriend. The location is really central and comfortable. For the rest the experience was not the best, but not terrifying either. A few days before arriving they sent us an email asking us to inform them in advance of the arrival time, for this reason I called almost immediately informing them of the time, who answered me seemed almost shocked by my call. The day before our trip they called my boyfriend to know, again, what time we would be arriving PRESIMENTLY, a difficult question by using public transportation. The fateful one called again, always for the same day. A little disorganization, that. About 10 minutes from the facility I could try to call the door naked for my friend to come to our room, and we had to find a reason to get back to the bathroom.
