The hotel is simple but clean. At night it is absolutely quiet. The restaurant is very cozy and serves simple but good dishes. The host family is very friendly and hospitable. A good starting point for a visit to Hattusa.

Simple but good

Very few hotels in the city, this is the coolest. Spacious rooms without air conditioning comfortable bed and clean sheets. Old bathroom and TV 15 with decoder... I didn't think there were any yet. Sad sad sad breakfast. Room cost 50€ x night. Dinner cheap portions and expensive main dishes to be in this location.

We didn 't have much choice.

The hotel is divided into two parts and this is not warned. We were placed on the right side, where the reception is. It was still cold, it was -1C at night and there was no heating in the room, it was frozen. When we ordered an electric heater, the owner was rude, he said that the winter was over and wanted to charge us 10 euros per night! Breakfast and dinner were terrible and dinner was served almost cold. The place is terrible and the owner is an explorer, avoid that place!

Stay away from that place!

Visiting this region has been a ritual for us for the last 4 years and each time we come to Hattusa we stay at this hotel. Next year we'll be coming again. Friendly staff, awesome climate, very close to the archaeological site. Oh and if you're lucky,you can encounter the cute ducks wandering around in the park nearby.

The best place in Hattusa

All the rooms were without heating, sleeping only on the second floor, cold water, completely Spartan decades ago, the food was old and cold, the price of the greedy hotel owner, the blood-stained mentality.

The set lunch for our tour group featured Ottoman Stew - braised eggplant in a casserole dish that included a couple pieces of meat gristle.   There was poor quality "french" baguette instead of fresh Turkish bread.  The "Marriage" soup was served tepid or cold.

Just drive on to the next town, Ankara or Çorum. No heating, no wifi, no credit card, poor breakfast! Terribly arrogant staff, unacceptable quality and totally inexplicable price!!! We went there during the off season but with high season prices. The rooms were spacious with motel-like windows looking out to a common veranda. Heat was provided by ancient electric heaters, dangerous as well as insufficient. We were obliged to sleep fully clothed. The evening meal was poor, inadequate and grudgingly offered. Çorum is an hour's drive from the ancient site of Hattusas so just drive on after you have visited the site and the museum.

Avoid at all cost! 

I had a confirmed booking here for a 35 square metre room with balcony and all the trimmings. The management, without explanation, wouldn’t honour my booking, instead installing me in their other (lesser) hotel across the road. What I got was a small room with poor facilities. I had to ask for towels and the guest soap had been used. The worst feature, however, was that there was no hot water. When I complained I was told “no sun”. When I asked them to boost it they said “expensive”.  On day two I asked for and was given a bucket of hot water to wash in. Dinner was plentiful, but expensive, lukewarm and unappealing. Breakfast was typically Turkish, but the bread was stale. The wifi didn’t work in the room, but did work in the dining room. I wouldn’t stay there again and I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone.
The one good thing they did for me was organise a cheap taxi (TL60) back to Sungurlu.

Poor value, unreliable, no hot water

Cold October visit with few guests around. Management seems to cope with this situation by switching off the hot water. Best avoided at this time of year. A visit to nearby Hittite forts is interesting but can be done with an early arrival which avoids the need to stay.

Good for Eskimo visitors...

Not everyone we travelled with liked this hotel (what we liked was that it wasn't coach tour place).  A bunch of kind butt ough Babushka type ladies helped with the baggage (by this time on a trip with had started in Beijing some of our group needed packhorses).  We liked the comfy outside seating, the cosy stove in the dining room, the good. We likes less the fact that the price of alcohol was eye watering (but OK for those of us who were moderate drinkers).  Although the rooms were chilly, there was extra bedding and electric  fires.
we would stay there again and recommend it.
