I booked the Bell Inn in Ruislip through Expedia for 18 June 2019. I arrived and the place looked new, fresh and refurbished, BUT the Bell Inn has changed hands and it’s now only a Bar and an Indian Restaurant, no HOTEL. The bar staff told me Expedia keeps sending people! I was practically left on the street, I couldn’t check in. Called Expedia for an explanation, they insisted the hotel is still there! Who knows better - me standing at the former hotel’s bar area or the guy in America if the hotel is still trading or not?! 
Expedia has absolutely refused to refund me, because the rate was NON refundable. I keep telling them there was no room. Awful experience. I ended up driving home in the night and didn’t go to work in London the next day. Such a mess up. 
I’ve initiated a dispute with AMEX, as. Expedia have flatly refused to refund me!!
Stay away from this place. I hate to think other will end up like me.

Watch out! The Bell Inn has ceased trading, but Expedia keeps selling rooms in it!

I thought I'd find out where the rooms were located at the Bell Inn to be met with another name of the building when I rang, starting with Masala. It had changed hands and by the sounds of it now a restaurant, and no longer provides accommodation!!! I'd booked 2 rooms with Expedia, was livid, the thought of turning up with my elderly mum (having travelled 230 miles) and having nowhere to stay as still being advertised on Expedia.
DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE, Expedia didnt seem too bothered when I rang to let them know, an advisor proceeded to ask if I wanted other accommodation!!! 
Wow  great customer service ..... NOT!!!

New owners, unbeknown to Expedia

Booked last minute, staff were very friendly, particularly the chap that served breakfast. Rooms were better than I thought they would be considering the price. All in all was a good stay, I would certainly return when next in the area.

Warm and welcoming

I booked the Bell Inn in Rusilip, UK on a quick decision in thinking that it would be a good and close place to where I needed to go for some business. I made a mistake. The Inn was located on top of a bar, loud music played until 0130 in the morning. The room was small and had mold under the window. It is very limited in service where there is no phone in the room, there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom. If you are on a very low budget and in rush to get a place to crash if you are drunk or on a go you can atay there otherwise I would not recommend.

I have to say thank you to the owner who did not charge us for the night due to the loud music which kept us awake.  I will not a hasty decision like thus again. Do your research first it is worth your time and money so it is not wasted.

A quick decision

Great place to stay, clean, well maintained rooms. Great if your on a budget, fantastic for travel into London as Central line is only about 200 yards away. Pub has a carpark and you can leave your car there whilst traveling into London.
I have stayed here regularly for 2 years and keep coming back

Great stay

Having lived around the corner from this pub for 20 years I've popped in now & then, when it's been done up or changed hands & as per usual it never failed to disappoint . It's had a lick of paint outside but still looks depressing inside , the beers not great & the bar only looks half stocked. If the new owners wish to drag this pub off the floor they should take a look at The Black Bull or The Middlesex Arms to how a pub should be run !

Depressing

I am currently here for a course and needed an evening meal, I decided to nip into here as it seemed fairly nice on first impressions.
Upon getting to the bar I lent on it and instantly glued my skin to the wood with sticky unclean bar top but I put that down to the odd spilt beer as always. 
I ordered my food which was an 8oZ sirloin steak with all the trimmings and sat down at my table.
Whilst I waited I noticed an horrible toilet smell venting from the corner which was clearly un cleaned ablutions so I asked to move, which I’ll be honest it was that bad it made no difference as it had already tainted my smell.
I received my food and that was the icing on the cake to a bad establishment, a £13 steak that was like chewing the hind leg of a scabby donkey, rubber onion rings, mash potato that was still in full potato form but the peas....well they were ok but less face it all you do it slightly boil them, if they went wrong then it’s time to give up.
Not really a place I’d recommend to anyone to eat to be honest. 

Trip - evening meal

The Bell Inn is a great place to stay if you a re looking for hotel not too far from Central London, but without the Central London prices. The property is located about 2 minutes walk from Ruislip Gardens tube station, and then it is a 40 minute trip into Central London. I stayed in a very comfortable double room for 3 nights, and I was really happy there. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, super fast WIFI available,  and it had all the ammenties you would expect in a quality bed and breakfast. The landlady and manager Rose is a real diamond, and she has very friendly and kind staff working for her both in the pub downstairs and in the hotel. It was also a lot of fun having drinks downstairs with the locals, and you can watch TV there as well.You can also eat in the pub, and there are several restaurants and take aways nearby that were also very good. In conclusion, a really great place to stay, highly recommended and I look forward to my next visit there.

Comfortable hotel and pub and a great location

The title says it all! Apart from being offered a line of coke in the gents, the place is spit and sawdust with similar accommodation. Staff friendly, but this is the only positive I can really mention. Orange was off at breakfast, if you can call it that! Room had multiple faults, including an insecure simplex door lock, not reassuring considering the clientele in the bar. He ho, survived!! 😀
