Kimaro Farmhouse is a wonderful establishment in the French countryside, a few hours from Paris. It's impossible to explain the magical serenity of this small farm. Located on the farm are five safari tents with an amazing "Out of Africa" feeling, and a stone cottage, Twiga House. Just up the road is Momella House where we stayed. The units are all self catering although the amazing proprietors, Robby and Marlene, host a dinner table two nights a week with fabulous food. Fresh baked bread can be arranged for morning delivery. There also is a campfire gathering at least one night during the summer as well as yoga classes. A small pond, chicken and duck enclosure and surrounding pastures home to beautiful white cattle complete the bucolic scene.

Our house was beautifully decorated with lots of African decor touches and had everything needed to cook with ease. There was a deck out back for alfresco dining and a nice view.  There was one bedroom and a common area with a child's room upstairs and a another double bedroom downstairs. There was only one bathroom and that was downstairs. The living room had a wood fireplace/stove and comfortable seating and a big dining table. Wifi worked throughout the house.

If you contact them they'll help arrange for you to stay even without transport. There are many sightseeing opportunities in the area, which is absolutely beautiful and full of friendly people. Truth be told, we just didn't want to leave and plan to return ASAP.

Magical, Special, Beautiful stay in the French countryside

First of all, I'm going to emphasize the welcome of Marleen and Robby everywhere and he's going to take us to our tent everywhere... He's offering us a little bit of an exceptional welcome, but we had to arrive around 10:30 p.m. but the crowds in the Parisian area were late. So we arrived at the farmhouse around midnight, a very late hour to arrive. A rather surprising welcome from a fit man arriving around this time tomorrow! With a smile to our ears, he takes us to our tent... He offers us a few pots, but we saw the time to arrive. A few hours later, we got an invitation to the next one. A little advice, we don't want to spend too much time with the beautiful pictures on their website, because the kitchen is a small bathroom in a small wifi bathroom! A little bit of a little bit of a small bathroom in a small wifi bathroom! A little bit of a little bit of an early morning, we're going to a small bathroom in a small bathroom, but we don't think we're going to a really good day, but we're going

It's an idyllic site.

A green setting where calm, rest, nature and comfort combine. A very warm welcome by homeowners with little care, concerned about the well-being and cleanliness of their guests. A comfortable and comfortable sofa bed, a pleasant wood fire in a neat setting. A generous and bucolic park awaits you at the edge of the house... very nice surprise! fine quality amenities!

It's exceptional.

We were delighted to spend a few days at the kimaro. The hosts are lovely and the hostel for 4 people is very well equipped. The children were filled by the park and the basement. How pleased they were to have been able to go and get chicken eggs for breakfast. We recommend!

Very good stay.

We had a great stay at Kimaro Farmhouse, and happiness is in the meadow, and it's true, a real haven of peace and greenery surrounded by a pond and the singing of birds to make your day, and we loved our stay, and our hosts Marleen and Robby are very much there, and thank you again for your hospitality.

Enchanted Parentess

We booked a last minute break (not possible at peak times) and we are so glad we did. We arrived after a huge family wedding in France and this was the perfect place to unwind. The tents are very comfortable and everything has been thought of (note there are just gas rings for cooking, no oven but this is not a problem). Our children loved the bunk beds and games cupboard and a highlight was collecting an egg for breakfast from the hen house. Kimaro was a bit out of the way on our journey back from Provence but well worth the detour and we can't wait to go back. Any tent that has proper champagne flutes AND wine glasses is a winner for me!

Unwinding after a wedding

We've just had a fabulous 4 day stay at Kimaro Farmhouse. Marlene & Robby couldn't have made us feel more welcome and our boys just loved being given free reign to go and check on the chickens for fresh eggs, rowing on the lake and just running round the fields around the tents. The tents themselves are incredible and have everything you need - we took a lot of our own food too, but Marlene cooked us a couple of amazing dinners, and their breakfast hamper & Sunday brunch are both excellent too.

The location is so peaceful but there is plenty to do within about a 30-40min drive or so. We visited Sancerre, Cyclorail, Guédelon castle & the tree climbing at Bois de la Folie (worth doing on same day as Guédelon as both are on the same road) all of which are worth a visit.

Luxury Camping in Burgundy

Me and my wife have just enjoyed 6 wonderful nights at kimaro farmhouse (birthday treat!)..Should I mention how good it is?...don't want too many people to go!
The safari tents are literally brand new, super comfy beds...wonderfully appointed and huge! Marlene and Robby have done a wonderful job creating a little slice of the Serengeti in deepest France! We collected free eggs every morning and the hosts held a super welcome meal on our first night which was ideal after a long drive.
Overall, can't say a bad word....superb! Thank you.

What a stunning piece of French heaven!

We had the most fantastic stay here. The tents are stunning – luxury in the most peaceful of locations. If you need to unwind then this is the place to go to. Everything has been thought of – from the roll top bath to the well equipped kitchen. The owners are lovely and very helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return ourselves. Suitable for couples and families.
