A moment out of time in a bucolic and charming place. A stay in a bubble out of time! If by its nature and infrastructure the place is beautiful and comfortable, it is above all the kindness and availability of the owner who marked us. He was able to answer all our requests, with a smile and at no time did we feel disturbed. And in addition we were pleasantly surprised to find when we entered the room that we had been overclassified!

Nice place in France

Such a stunning oasis behind the big old gates of this former coaching inn - yes the garden is overgrown , but it’s charming . It’s owned by a family and they have 8 rooms available . All have 4 poster beds . Ours had a lovely terracotta tiles . We strolled up to the swimming pool for a dip and that was very refreshing - the indoor pool was closed which was ok for us . The private car park is located round the back but we also found parking right outside . Dinner was ok , it was a Sunday my braised endive starter with cheese and bacon was very tasty , my husband had smoked salmon . The mains were a bit lack lustre although tasty we have been spoilt on previous stays elsewhere . This place is very special and the owner goes beyond to make you feel at home . Lovely breakfast not a buffet brought to the table .

Pleasant oasis

I strongly discourage the Hauts de Sainte-Maure! We had a problem with their key system making it impossible to access our room. At the time of the incident, there was no one inside the hotel and even worse, no number or where we could reach someone (after paying the room 100 EUR overnight, we almost slept in the driveway...). The next morning when I exposed the problem to the hotel officials, absolutely no questioning from them, no apologies and a disgusting tone... The disgusting experience was continued when they notified us the next day that we did not have 2 or 3 rooms reserved (but one from our side) instead of notifying us during the check-in.

This is a catastrophic experience.

I had a little difficulty identifying the building after a long drive as there was little if any signage outside and my satnav was trying to take me to the other end of the street. But once I finally arrived everything was just perfect. The welcome was friendly, and the room was well furnished, stylish, and comfortable. I ate dinner in the beautiful dining room and the menu was imaginative and all food well cooked and presented. Delicious! Breakfast the following morning was also splendid with a great variety of food brought to my table and several checks to make sure that I was OK and had everything I needed. Altogether I was very happy with my choice for an overnight stay and will definitely return.

Perfectly situated, comfortable and stylish, delicious food

Went to this 4 * hotel yesterday have booked a while back for their best room. We had asked if they had parking and they confirmed ! On arrival yesterday are 17.00h asked where the parking was and they said "up the road , turn left and left again and you will see it ! We followed instructions and there is was ,a private area for about 5 cars and there was space ! OK but...... we were now 300m up a steep hill from the hotel and we have luggage a cat in her box and other things for an overnight ! My wife has a recent knee replacementand walks with a stick, I have a poor heart condition so getting into the hotel was quite beyond us and impossible. I would have had a heart attack ! So we just had to continue driving through the night a further 5 hours and got to our destination around 23.30h ! A very hard 1100kms journey. So in conclusion this hotel is not for oldies, or anyone with a medial or  breathing conditions etc. In a real 4* hotel someone might have offered to help up but sadly not such service was available ! So we had a hard time and the hotel lost their customers.

Not for oldies

We are so fortunate to find this beautiful property, an ancient auberge on the route of the postal carriages lovingly restored with refinement creating beautiful rooms with warm tiles looking onto a splendid garden. Quiet, restful sleep, beautiful food for dinner served in the garden. We will make this a destination hotel, meaning we will come here again just for the hotel and it’s splendid ambience, food and service.

Heavenly Garden, Very Kind Owners, Delicious Food!

A very friendly welcome from Frédéric. Our room was well and properly equipped. Despite the problems of Covid-19, the choice and quality at the restaurant were of very good quality. Breakfast was very good too, with real coffee!

One night at my hotel The heights of St. Maure

Having spent two nights in this beautiful hotel, very good bed, very warm welcome, very nice swimming pool and jacuzzi, bed with a balcony, my wife's bed and a small staff, we'll be happy to come back.

It's a lovely hotel shop.

Free outdoor parking welcome super the hotel part: room No. 28 overlooking the quiet interior courtyard, very good bedding, big tv (I even surfed on it ), perfect wifi. clean pool and jacuzzi a wonderful place to relax the water was at 32°c. tasty restaurant although it is in the package with local products to do it again with pleasure

A hotel that must have experienced a prosperous period, and which is now in an intermediate phase. The maintenance of the premises to be monitored (access lighting, electricity to the spa, bathroom fittings), but especially the very disparate furniture. If in some rooms we can find period furniture, in others we will find PVC garden chairs, a melamine curtain and some 'natural' garlands.
