I choose this hotel because it was the cheapest and for only 8 hours of sleep (I landed at 10 PM and at 9 AM the second day I had a coach to Krakow) I didn't want to pay much. The price of the room was almost the same with 2 nights in the city center of Krakow for a room with bathroom. The quality of the room, was poor, it looked not as a place where you want to sleep 2 nights. I had a common bathroom, which was a terrible experience: the showers were common, separeted by a small foil (I changed my mind and I decided to take the shower the next evening, in Krakow). It was hard even to wash my teeth, because the sink was in the room with the WCs and the smell was not good. The staff was really nice, the receptionist offered me a lot of good and usefull information. I didn't have a breakfast.

Not a very good experience

Unfortunately, we did not find a good and cheap place to stay near the airport, unfortunately we could have saved the money. It is clear that the coach house Amchi is located in the Hotel Bär. But that was not the problem, because you already know that. We traveled by train and got off at the Kurt-Shoemaker-Platz stop, which proved to be an advantage. Unfortunately, we did not have a small entrance, but you should have known that the coach house Amchi is located in the Hotel Bär. So far, we had a heavy suitcase (40 kg of rucks) and unfortunately there is no lift, the guest house is located in the 3rd floor, which unfortunately, afterwards, can be very quiet. Unfortunately, this was very difficult and it was very easy to sleep, but we could not sleep in the same room with a lot of money. We just got to the front of the airport, where we could not get to sleep with a lot of money. We were able to get a lot of money, but we were not allowed to go to sleep in the next room with a lot of money. We

Worse than a youth hostel

When we entered our room the first day, we were met with a very unpleasant smell. The floor carpet was very cramped and both beds were extremely sloping, which is noticeable at 4-5 cm mattresses on the lattenrest. Bedcloth and linen cloth were full of hair. Cleaners always came into the room in the morning without knocking! The ceiling was rusting at a crack and it smelled suspiciously of mold. Cabinets almost fell over when you just touched them. Both cabinets were broken!

The room is cramped and the smell bites.

We've seen worse, but that room was much cheaper. This, on the other hand, has a regular price starting from 45€/night. I'm pretty sure one can find a hotel that is much better than this one with that amount. It's near the airport, sure. But far away from everything else.

There's a communal shower room for one floor and it smelled like p*ss. The floor was wet all day long. The toilet seat had stains all over it. The closets inside the room were missing their door handles so you have to stick your finger through the rough hole to open the doors. But this is only the 3rd floor. The lobby looked fine and I believe the rooms in the other floors are alright but then much pricier. Wifi is only available in the lobby and you have to pay by the hour. If you want towels, you have to pick them up from the lobby (on the first floor). The towels are also very small so if you dare to take a shower, make sure you get fully dressed there already (which can be hard because the floor is wet and there are also no surfaces for your stuff) because you can't cover yourself with them. Just go figure.

I would have paid much less for this room

The Pension is extremely easy to find as it's in the same building that hotel Barlin (there is huge sign at the top of the building with it's name). Very quick late night check in (the same reception as for hotel).  No problem with finding free parking place at the nearby street (during the day I suppose that there could be some charges) .  Room was very basic but for one night it was OK. Beds good and long enough. 

Basic, Clean, Great location for Tegel airport 

For one or two nights, the boarding house is good. No planes fly at night, from 5 a.m. onwards, very close to the window. Traffic is to be tolerated. You know when booking that the toilet and shower are not in the room. The high bed was not exactly safe because there was no parachute on the top bed and so you could easily fall down. Carpet floors needed to be changed sometime. But otherwise everything was clean. Staff friendly!! Bus and subway 100m away, there are enough breakfast facilities.

One night

good location, friendly staff, affordable and spacy rooms, good breakfast. A place to start exploring Berlin. Plenty of restaurants in the neighbourhood. The loud planes passing over the hotel are only flying during the day. Nighttime it is OK.
      

friendly and central

The service is very good, the staff is very friendly. Rooms are spartan but completely adequate for overnight stays. Beds could be a little softer - 7 cm foam mattress is already quite hard. Very good transport connection!

Pension on the coach

When you showup to a place and they can't find your booking it's never a great start. Then to eventually say the guy in the morning will sort it so they need to start a new booking at potentially a different price is even worse. 

Breakfast was noted to be included then on a minor technicality it became and additional charge. To be honest we booked here as it stated breakfast included.

The rooms windows wouldn't shut so we had bad road noise all night.

We didn't even bother looking for too much of an explanation in the morning just up and left.

A note to management - understand where you have your place listed and how to manage bookings from there. Also double check how they are listed and with what information.

Ok location, ok pricing - terrible service & room!

After a great vacation, the recreation was over as soon as we entered room 327. It smelled of smoke and old-fashioned carpet. The carpet had been so dirty... The escape room 329 offered was also not better. We didn't even look at the community bathroom... We didn't stay there, but in a 3-star hotel that was only 6 minutes away from the bus station (also on line 128) and even the morning meal costs only 14 more.
