Beautiful place immersed in nature It is possible to take many walks and bicycles starting directly from the farm Excellent and abundant breakfast (Sad that with the many chickens they have on the farm we charge an extra x to have eggs for breakfast) I had a small accident with the car (got into a hole right outside the farmhouse) At the moment very nervous because we didn't get much help from the staff but then they made themselves excused! Despite this little misadventure A magnificent and positive experience! I had already checked out the date and with the suitcases I realize that I would be ready to leave the next day!

The Paradise

Il Rigo is a magical place. It is set in the most beautiful part of the Val d’Orcia, near several charming Tuscan towns including Pienza and Montepulciano. We were lucky to visit in spring and the views all around the property were breathtaking, completely serene and peaceful. The rooms are simple but charmingly done and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We had dinner two nights and found the food delicious. Il Rigo is an excellent base for walking and there was a large walking group staying while we were there. There are certainly fancier places to stay in Tuscany but the simple beauty of this family run farmhouse is in a class of its own.

A magical place in a magical location

We absolutely loved our stay here. The building and rooms were charming and had amazing views. Staff was super friendly and created amazing peaceful atmosphere. Food was awesome too!

We did not stay in the main building but it was not a problem at all. I'd actually say that the views we had were better.

Blissful

We did not stay at Il Rigo, but had dinner with a group and the food was delicious.  Il Rigo is a very small restaurant with limited seating, so reservations are a must.  The menu is set daily and consists of four courses of Italian homestyle cooking.  The wine we had was so good, we bought a bottle to take home.  This may have been the best meal among many amazing meals we’ve had in Italy.  The grounds around the restaurant are beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking.

It's a beautiful place, very neat and welcoming. We just stayed at the restaurant where you eat very well. A nice overall experience. Wouldn't mind coming back and maybe staying overnight.

The rig

Perfect place in Tuscany to enjoy the sceneries of Val d'Orcia.  This agriturismo is perfectly located within an hour from most of the picturesque towns like Pienza, Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino and San Querico.  You get a hearty breakfast and an option to have a nice 4 course dinner every day.   Pienza was our favorite town in the region with great options for cafe, gelato and dinner.  We took a cooking class with Lorenza and that was indeed the highlight of our stay there.  Overall, a perfect place to stay and explore Val d'Orcia.

Perfect location to explore Val d'Orcia

I had left enthusiastic reviews for this agriturismo, so much so that I had chosen it to celebrate an event in the family, 500 km from home. So in November 2021 I contacted the structure via email, I explain our needs in terms of children, animals, etc. and, after an exchange of 9 e-mails we agreed to rent out the entire household of Poggio Bacoca (7 rooms) from 1 to 5 October 2022, with 11 months in advance.

This is unacceptable!

We stayed two nights for a wedding in July 22. Overall a great experience and a beautiful venue! Very rustic, breathtaking views and very friendly and attentive staff. 

Bbq was great and meat of excellent quality. Only let down on food was breakfast. It was a very limited selection, especially for young children.

Regarding accommodation, rooms were very clean and well appointed. Unfortunately the room did not have A/C. So during the summer this can be a little uncomfortable and the small table fan doesn't quite cut it. Also we were told there were no mosquitos and to leave the window shutters open on a night... Unfortunately one member of our party got bitten very bad over a dozen times.

Overall a great agriturismo in a beautiful setting and great location.

Would definitely recommend for a short stayover or wedding venue.

Beautiful Tuscany

We are very pleased to have found in the Agriturismo Il Rigo the solution for our Pasquetta lunch after a splendid Easter week around the Val D'Orcia. Wonderful position with excellent 360° view and large green surroundings with drainage areas for relaxation and the possibility of letting children play. The room where we were reserved the table was stunning with a beautiful glass view Pienza, well equipped and from the very spacious table. impeccable service, without precision and kindness from all the staff. The fixed menu was made up of excellent raw materials for both the appetizer and the meat grill, both the choice of wines and the competence in their suggestion as well.

The Five-Sensed Pie!

Il Rigo is a delightful family run Tuscan Agriturismo. Although it’s setting is very rural it is not too remote,we found it convenient for accessing the local area, Pienza, Siena, Asciano etc and easy  to find.
The wildlife and flora and fauna abound. We spent a week walking in the local area, the views are tremendous as is the variety of walks available.
We stayed in the main house, Casabianca, the rooms are large and airy and very comfortable with great views. The food was typically Tuscan, a great variety of 4 courses were offered every evening and they were superb.
All the staff were so helpful I didn’t get all their names so it would not be fair to single any of them out but they were all so helpful and there to please.
