A charming traditional guest house in a beautiful location. Aranchina (?) looked after us very well despite some difficulties in communication due to our total lack of knowledge of any Basque or Spanish! The room was spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed and an adequate bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was basic, typically Spanish with home made cake and fresh squeezed orange juice. We went for a walk up the hill behind the house almost as far as the main road, my legs are still stiff because it was quite a climb, but worth it for the lovely views. Local village a short walk away has a bar/restaurant and there is an easy, regular bus service from the end of the road (5 mins walk down - 10 back up!!). We had a rented car but used the bus to go into Tolosa one evening & took a taxi back, which cost under 20€. 

Comfortable, charming house in a rural location.

Excellent step in a traditional Basque house in the mountains. Warm home and well restored rooms. The guest house is not marked from the main road. You have to go up to Eldua facing the paper factory. The hamlet is charming, it has only a few well restored Basque farms and a small church.

It's a very nice place.

A perfect weekend stay in a spectacular rural setting and at the same time a step from urban environments such as Tolosa and Donosti, with a very friendly and attentive hostess.

End of Week Disconnection

The place is very nice and the treatment is excellent, really the owner is lovely, but sleeping was difficult.Every hour of the day and night the bells ring quite loud, and if we agree that the room did not have a single window (only a panel on the ceiling that could be opened about 15 centimeters), the feeling can be a little distressing.

It's hard to sleep, however pretty it is.

We have spent a fine time in this country house, the surroundings have beautiful views, the rustic and pleasant house, the attention of the right housekeeper. We could not sleep any night with the sound of the bells of a small church ringing every hour all night and can not sleep. One thing to improve would be the breakfast NO IS CASERO at all, poor quality, the bread of the previous day and the biscuit pure industrial bakery, the white-branded jam and keep in mind that if you go with a smartbox box as was our case you will not put on the full breakfast and ask for a supplement.

Night in the wind

We've been to Easter, an amazing place to unplug, thank Arantxa for their hospitality, it's 25 minutes from San Sebastián, the amazing breakfast with field eggs, chistorra and cheese from the area, we'll definitely repeat.

What a wonderful site!!

We went to La Behobia and we were interested in staying near Toulouse, and we were six minutes away by car. The access by car is very easy, and El Barrio very quiet, with beautiful houses. The house is very nice and the room is huge, which is appreciated because there are no suitcases and bags. Perhaps the bathroom is something fair, although the shower is large and comfortable. Well insulated by both heating and noise. The living room is large and although there are more guests, you are comfortable. But the best is its owner, Arantxa, a waste of sympathy, kindness and service that makes you feel like you need it at home. Only when it is greatly attended to. Thank you very much.

Like at home.

The owner is kind, smiling and very available, preparing a homemade breakfast on request. The atmosphere is familiar and we felt comfortable.

What a lovely welcome.

This guesthouse was lovely. The room was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The hostess was very eager to please and kind. The area is very quaint and quiet. It's also a good base for exploring surrounding towns and scenic drives. An excellent stay! Thankyou!

Welcoming and Spacious

We loved staying at the Arguiñenea guest house in the pretty hillside hamlet of Edua just up from the road between Berastegi and San Sebastian.The landlady's family occupy the first two floors of the typically huge Basque traditional farmhouse and guests stay in superb bedrooms in what was originally the loft. From our room at the back we enjoyed watching the sheep walking between their milking parlour and the hillside pasture - led by a black goat with a bell around its neck. Lovely beds and superb breakfasts of bread, jam, cake and boiled eggs.
