Starting from good things - bed was comfortable and the location was very central.
Sad to say but this is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed, We did not expect much from it based on the rating and comments, but considering the cost what you get is almost like a joke. The hotel has nice location, and the other hotel where 'hotel robinson' is a part of looks pretty nice and interesting. But then it makes even bigger shock when you cross the door between 2 hotels. The room is extremely small , once we put our luggage we could not move, A lot of EHS hazards, like hairdryer in a room with many cables hanging out and on your way. The bathroom was a wet bathroom, but this was quite common also for other hotels. You cannot get there by car, and indeed there is a parking close to the hotel (belonging to shopping center) and I must say that comparing to other parking the cost of it was not that high, but would be nice to get some instruction from the hotel upfront. We in fact lost 2 hours trying to find the hotel and trying to find where to park the hotel, Once the instructions were given it was ok. If I had a choice to pay more for better part of this hotel, I would.. Fortunately stayed there only one night..

I do not recommend this hotel

When me and my friend where on a road trip through Norway and Sweden last summer, we decided that we wanted to end our trip in Gothenburg. We decided to rent a hotel, since we´d been sleeping in a tent for over a week, and our backs were quite sore. When we arrived in Gothenberg we had trouble finding the hotel, and we called the hotel staff. The first thing we found weird, where that the number led us to another hotel, hotel Pigall. These two hotels are in the same building and cooperated. We had no idea, since the web side never mentioned it anywhere. Besides, the hotel staff was kinda rude, and applied we where stupid for not finding the hotel. They could not tell us where we could park the car, and when we asked for a great place for eating seafood, they led us to a very famous restaurant in Gothenburg, which was closed for the season. We were quite hungry and tired by that point, and personally I think the staff should have known the restaurant was closed, since the restaurant is such a big deal. 
The hotel room was quite shabby and in bad shape, but I guess you get what you pay for. After all, it was quite cheap.
Maybe it was just bad luck, and a bad time for us, but personally I will never come back to this hotel. Never been treated this badly.

Terrible service

Yes this hotel is inside a much more luxury hotel, however it is in a perfect location and if you have come to explore the beautiful city of Gothenburg. Entrance is the hotel pigale and the room is clean.

Cheap with perfect location

I spent only one night and it was okay. I had a budget room for one person with a shared bathroom. The shower was cold and didn't stay on so that was not so nice. Room was roomy and clean, but the noise from the street didn't let me sleep much. It was also quite hard to find, but the service at check-in and check-out was good and pleasant.

Hotel Robinson is the non-renovated floor of a new trendy boutique hotel called Hotel Pigalli, Even though the decor is tired and dated the rooms are really clean and functional.

The added bonus of staying here is that you can enjoy a fantastic breakfast served on the top floor in the newly renovated area of the hotel.

It's cheap and cheerful.

During the hotter months the hotel bar smells of feet.

Mid-range hotel in the centre of Gothenburg, service ok, clean rooms with average facilities, good location near Gothenburg Central Station (Södra Hamngatan on the Nile Ericson terminal) with shopping mall (Arkaden) almost right in front of the front door as well as tourist destinations (opera, city museum, Domkryka)
