Food was fine, but far from special or exceptional. Prices are fine, but the drinks are too expensive (3dl Coke 5.-). No children's menus! It's amazing that there are still these! Ordered at 12 a.m. on a typical weekday and had to wait an hour for food! Unfortunately, I have to re-register from both service crews, one of whom has no idea of service! We do not recommend the restaurant!

On average, there would be no more food there.

We had dinner there, and the quality of the fish and pasta dishes is similar to that of a bad fast food restaurant, and the fish in the beer can is very similar to Iglu fish sticks, but with much less fish and a labyrinthine, fat crust - but the prices are back to the level of a four- or five-star restaurant.

Wretched Dinner

We had a nice room , in good condition , with views over the beautiful lake Brienz . Staff were friendly , also bruno the boss , and there was even help with luggage and transport to/from the station . Breakfast was not included but as it was a cafe/tea room we expected breakfast there . This was not possible on Tuesday morning and finding somewhere open was tough . There was road noise as the hotel is sandwiched between the main road through Brienz and the lake . For dinner we wanted to use local restaurants but Walz closed their kitchen around 5.0 ( closed completely Mon / Tues ) and other nearby restaurants were either closed or the kitchen closed very early. No lift so with 2 flights of stairs to the bedroom not suitable for limited mobility guests.

Good experiences , some issues

Booked directly at the property for one night from 30/06/22 to 01/07/22 In booking was included breakfast instead arriving directly it was not included and the price was also doubled. Too bad I didn't know this before. Very nice clean rooms with indoor bathroom, lake view. However it does not justify the particularly high price for the low season.

The terrace is nice - nice view of the lake The reception is neutral (mask required) The service is perfect but the tea is overpriced... 4.50 francs - expensive hot water and the bag that soaks in it:-(

Very expensive tea

My Swiss grandfather used to take us to this beautiful little Tea Room in Brienz.  Still as wonderful as I remembered it from years and years ago!  Awesome views of Lake Brienz, charming, sleepy little town-make sure to take the old route to Brienz, if you take the relatively new tunnel on the other side of the lake, you'll miss this beautiful town and  all the sights of this Swiss dream town.
Lunch was delicious, served piping hot and fresh.  They have a bakery inside the restaurant, don't miss sampling something!

Trip down memory lane

We enjoyed a nice dessert on the terrace, several umbrellas provided the necessary shade, and the great location right by the Brien lake made for a very beautiful summer day in September.

A lovely dining establishment on Lake Brien.

Very friendly restaurant and hotel with lovingly decorated rooms (partly with terrace and breathtaking sea views) as well as a shop with delicious pastries. July & August every Friday + Saturday barbecue evening from 6 pm, otherwise closed from 6 pm. Ideal starting point to discover the most beautiful spots in Bern's Oberland.

Purely enjoyable with Silvia Illi and Wali Hinni in Brienz

I had decided to go to the hotel because it looked so nice on the photos. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the owner and taken to the room. This one was comfortably decorated. With a great view of the lake (if it hadn't been mist). The bathroom had a shower and enough towels were also available. After closing doors at 6pm, you enter the hotel as a guest through a side door. For wheelchair users, the hotel is unfortunately unsuitable, as you have to climb a staircase to get to the room. The next day's breakfast was very fine. Regional sausage, cheese and jurt. There was also someone coming by who asked for wishes. We had to come back in the morning, we should come back in the morning:) Then we should come back overnight!
