I should have read these reviews before coming here. It's the same story for us as for other guests who dined at the restaurant. We came with 4 adults, 2 children for dinner. First surprise was that children "aren't allowed" to drink from their own water bottles. We must buy water for them. The menu is written in a very difficult to read font and as foreigners, we needed some help to understand what the dishes were. One lady spoke English and was helpful. The other was just rude and walked away without offering any help. We should have left then but it was late and everyone was hungry so we proceeded to order. The food was good but very simple- fish filets, 1 sausage, some schnitzel for kids and a salad. Water and beer to drink. 146CHF. Avoid this place. Drive 30 min to Konstanz for better service and save some money!

Terrible customer service

A coffee with a glass of water. Do you have to get the water from the lake yourself? Because the water never came. We sat at a table with another couple. Please count. Then came a bill for the whole table. We told the staff that we didn't belong together. Answer: You can take the bill apart. So it's hardly slick. Decency failed. Thank you! But never again!

We're out of our minds!

We were at an Apéro restaurant ship in Göttingen on July 22. Although we had eaten there more often before, we will no longer be sitting there by the lake. We ordered 5 dl of white wine and a glass of ordinary water. We even thought about eating something else. Unfortunately, the time for this was not enough and afterwards we were very happy. When we received the bill, we had to pay for the glass of water Fr 4.10. When we complained to the chef, who apparently had no idea of customer friendliness, we were informed by research that they were selling tap water. There would be only complications.

Not customer friendly

I (single guest, just getting dinner): Could it be possible to turn off the music? Host: It could be that another guest comes and wants music, no, because of you, I won't turn off the music! Host: Don't you like the music? Are you not musical? You can't meet all the special wishes of the guests! The next one wants me to open the windows... Where are we going? Then it became more friendly. Actually, this communication is more stage-mature. Whoever shares the music taste of the host and appreciates rude manners of conduct is recommended to visit here.

Hospitality would be different

It's a pity, nice location, but: the cost of the extra brick was not mentioned, after complaint very unfriendly treatment. portion (Falafelburger) for CHF 24.50 extremely spicy.

Breakdowns: small falafel burgers, attachments small, additional brick (no decking) + CHF 2.50 1 rod, 1 water, total CHF 36.50

It's a shame for the beautiful gardening! It's not well cared for. Plants need care, and unfortunately nobody here knows that! Brown, dried leaves everywhere - be it on the floor of the tree, on the ship's bank or on the ornamental bucket plants! The food was good, but price - performance???

Great location, but...

I needed a room with a few hours notice for one night and found Gasthaus Schiff online. The gasthaus is situated just by the Lake Constance and has its own restaurant by the lake serving the standard swiss menu. The friendly owner lives in the same house as the four rooms she rents out. My room was clean, had a comfrtable bed and a shared bathroom in the corridor. For this price, very good value for money. They do not serve breakfast. 

Good value for money

The chef told us that it was not time to make cocktails of choice, too many people (we counted, there were at least 15 people in total, crazy!). We prayed to choose cocktail number one or number two. We executed ourselves! Fortunately, we were thirsty, we would have drunk almost anything. In the end, expensive for very poor quality and service, and of course, we didn't book for the evening. Absolutely run away! Too bad, the place is beautifully located.
