Hotel Soydan is in central Afyon a short walk from the old town and memorial square. Front rooms have a great view of the castle, but also suffer from some road noise.
There is no parking onsite, but there is an inexpensive underground car park within 200 metres and free street parking nearby.
Reception staff were welcoming in both English and Turkish. The room and ensuite shower room were comfortable and clean. WiFi was fast in the room.
Breakfast was the usual Turkish hotel buffet with eggs, cheese, jams, etc. In addition, clotted cream for which Afyon is famous was served at the table. Tea and instant coffee.
The service and facilities are fantastic for the budget price.

Gold service and comfort at copper price

It is a budget hotel. i stayed for 300 TRY. In city center. Close to (uzun çarşı) and historical visit sites. Breakfast was in accordance with the  budget price. Staff were helpful. There was smoke smell in the room but they showed me other rooms to choose. I will come here again

Good for the price

We wanted to stay for one night in the some place in the city centre and found this hotel incidentally. We were really surprised about price and view. Wonderful view of the main attraction - Afyonkarahisar’s castle. Super  customer-oriented stuff. Highly recommended!

Best hotel we could find in Afyonkarahisar.

The hotel is in a perfect location, all the sights are very well reached on foot. The rooms are well equipped and the most important thing is that they are clean! The staff are very helpful and very friendly, which you rarely experience in hotels. So I am impressed and can recommend the hotel with a good conscience. Cok tesekürler hersey Harikaydi. Good location/professional staff

Of course the five stars I give to this hotel isn´t about luxury. It´s related to how un-expensive it is, of course, you don´t get gold or silk for that price. But above all I´m rating what is priceless - a warm atmosphere and wonderful treatment. The man at the desk even lend me his private credit card to buy a bus ticket, when the company wouldn´t accept my foreign. Breakfast is good, though I missed the coffee; only instant coffee isn´t good enough I think, though I admit I didn´t pay a lot for the stay. I don´t have the habit to start the day with a vegetable soup, but it is not a bad idea at all! The only disturbing detail is that smoking is allowed on the rooms, but with the balcony door open I didn´t suffer much from the smoky smell either.

Wonderful treatment

We checked into the Soydan Hotel and went to the rooms. In the room it was very uncomfortable because of the constantly rinsing toilet, so you couldn't sleep. Also the mold is noticeable and the wiring on the sink is not working properly. The staff were fine but the rooms didn't deserve 3 stars.

Unexpected

The hotel is in the middle of the town. There's a free parking near hotel. The staff welcomed us with cold watermelon and cherries. The wi fi is very good. The hotel is very clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is very big. 

Perfect for a one night stay 

We stayed an extra night, at the same "deal rate" offered on one of the booking sites. The hotel confirmed our original reservation by phone and the Manager was very helpful and speaks good English. 
Location is perfect for getting to all the Old Town sights and for restaurants and shopping. 
Breakfast was plentiful - Turkish-style. Do try the local potato bread, toasted - delicious. The other speciality is the Turkish version of clotted cream, which is available everywhere, and dished out at breakfast in this hotel.

Excellent value, very clean - But no frills!

It's a small hotel in the center of Afyon. Much simpler than the spa hotels in the city, but also much more affordable: we only paid 100 TL for a triple room, where I slept with my wife and my four-year-old daughter.

Simple, but super affordable

Afyon is a great city, and this hotel is in the best location I can imagine. It's very close to the landmark castle and other sights, and is essentially in the happening hub of Afyon.  There's no way I would want to stay way out in those spa hotels.

I am giving this 4 stars, although it was perfect for us; affordable, convenient, and friendly. It is due for a facelift, there's no question, but the facilities are fine, the people are very friendly, and the location is perfect. I suspect that because it hasn't been refurbished Ina. While the price is lower than it would be. For that reason, we stayed and extra night so that we could enjoy Afyon for another day.
