I stayed at The Old Hall Inn Christmas Eve night through to the day after Boxing Day. Prior to my arrival, I received a really nice and helpful email from Dan, explaining what to expect over the Christmas period. On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our rooms (I had booked a second room for a relative) and both rooms were lovely, warm, and had everything we needed. Friends joined us for a meal on Christmas Eve, and the food, ambience and staff were all excellent. Throughout our stay, despite it being Christmas, Dan ensured we had everything we needed, with a welcome breakfast delivered to our rooms on Christmas Day! This is a lovely old inn, set in the beautiful High Peak, but what really makes it a great place is Dan and the wonderful staff.

Once again the staff, room and food excelled.
We loved our four poster bed in room 4….will book in the summer so we can use the little balcony. 
 What a fantastic way to start off the new year. Thank you.

Beautiful place to stay.
Friendly,approachable staff.
Rooms very clean and comfortable.
Breakfasts are amazing!
The food in the restaurant  and at the papermill is also excellent. 
We have been a couple of times now and would definitely recommend. We enjoyed some nice walks in the area too.

Lovely,relaxing getaway in the peak district.

Received an upgrade to a beautiful 4-poster room which was a wonderful surprise on arrival.  Dinner and breakfast were high quality with an exceptional choice and the staff were helpful, attentive and knowledgeable of the local area.  We had an excellent stay and will definitely visit again.

A Wonderful Christmas Treat!

Lovely historic Inn in a great location.  Friendly staff, lovely room and great food.  The room was freezing when we first arrived but apart from that everything was perfect.  There is lots to do in the area and the locals still say 'Ay up me duck'.

All the great things said about the Old Hall Inn are. Dan and his young team worked hard to ensure our stay was a good one. Thank you. Breakfast was excellent and provide a great start to our day. Our evening on the Saturday night was also v good. We'd like to visit again. 👍

Our Peak District trip

We had a great one night stay here. We enjoyed the quiet rural setting . We stayed in a very nice room in The Paper Mill with a gorgeous bath . Evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. Great choice of beers and The Old Hall Inn itself again was a lovely, cosy place -lots of little rooms. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. A perfect get away for us ( from Sheffield) . We actually went by train which worked well as the train station is only a 10 minute walk away.
The pub gave us a sat nav device with a walk programmed on it which we used.

Perfect place

If you love the outdoors and a great beer this is the place to go. With a warm, welcoming atmosphere, The Old Hall Inn had everything you'd want for a break away.
Such a great idea to provide GPS trackers for a variety of walks you can do straight from the pub. Dan the landlord went out of his way to be helpful and obviously has a great team working with him. Would recommend any day.

A perfect night away

I spent a lovely weekend at Old Hall. The room was comfortable and well designed, clean and well equipped. But it was the pleasure of sitting in the bar, eating good food and watching the comings, sittings and goings of a busy Saturday afternoon. It is a popular place so don't expect to find yourselves alone in the bar at anytime of a weekend. The staff were very helpful, thoughtful and efficient. Breakfast was good too with a very delicious oatcake ( think pancake) with bacon and maple syrup. 
This is not my first stay and won't be my last. Thanks Dan and your amazing team.

Exactly what a pub with rooms should be

We've visited the Old Hall Inn and Paper Mill on  a number of occasions in the past, but this was the first time that we've actually stayed here.  We stayed in the Old Hall Inn for 2 nights as a base for some hiking.  
A warm welcome greets you, from staff and the inn itself, and there is a lovely country charm at breakfast as it feels like you've entered someone's country kitchen. 
The evening meals provide good comfort food and there is a great choices of draft beers and even a whisky cabinet.
The Paper Mill across the road (owned by the same people) offers a selection of pizza, although this was very busy on the Friday night, so we did struggle to get a table at first. 
Apart from pub closing time on the Saturday night (to be expected), it was quiet and a good nights sleep was had.
