Nice quiet mansion in the countryside, pleasant reception by the owner, clean rooms, very good food, copious, in the evening with an English service water, and also very well provided breakfast. The owner is pleasant and listening while being discreet. She is English but speaks French without problems, however speaking English with her was a pleasure. A good time.

A charming house

After spending several weeks in the hustle and bustle of Paris, it was a joy to settle into the relaxing calm of Manoir Angle. Vivienne and Ian made us feel welcome and provided us with a large, warm, comfortable room that allowed us to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the French countryside near Aulnay. It felt like we were living in a fairytale French chateau nestled into a lush green landscape. The house is a rambling, two-story Victorian manor house with several guest rooms, all of which feature a modern bathroom. Our bed was large and comfortable, with wonderful vintage linens, furniture, and accessories adding to its ambiance. The room was commodious with tall ceilings. We arrived late on a Sunday night and Vivienne explained there would be no places open where we could get some food, but she proceeded to spontaneously prepare a hot cooked dinner for us that was delicious and very inexpensive (and as good as anything we had in Paris). Breakfast was included in our room price and was likewise generous and delicious. Ian also spent time with us, providing advice about local attractions and lending us some maps to help us get oriented, and sharing a glass of wine. They are a lovely couple and made us feel like part of their family. We even got to spend some time spoiling Jack, their adorable little dog. We will definitely stay there again if our travels take us that way. It was a divine experience.

Fairytale Abode in the French Countryside

We stayed as a family in the mansion. The reception was very good despite our late arrival. The Pivoines room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. In the morning, a delicious English breakfast served in a nice dining room. All thanks to charming guests. What else? We will return.

French charm combined with English style.

I stayed here with my elderly parents and we were enchanted: wonderful hospitality from the English owners, first-rate food, very beautiful rooms in this lovely house, and a fine garden. The area is gently beautiful, with a nice moated chateau in the next village, and - above all - the outstanding and splendid church of Aulnay only ten minutes away.

It's a welcome like family, it smells so good, it's good for breakfast, and it's always fun to enjoy, a quiet little moment in nature that's good for simplicity.

During a visit to the area we spent one night in this mansion warmly welcomed by this English lady very clean room and pleasant breakfast.

After staying here  en route both ways last year, we had to repeat it this year, but stayed a little longer - we enjoyed it so much. Ian and Vivienne' s hospitality is so natural and unassuming that we might have been visiting some of our family. Our dog was expected to make the house her own and she had a marvellous time with Jack, the Gunn's dog. The Manoir is excellent value for money and is an essential detour in any journey through France. Set in tranquil countryside, the Manoir has been tastefully renovated by Ian and Vivienne, who provide excellent and generous food and wine and who we now consider among our friends.

- 2 Navis did not find it with the address given - use coordinates! - no lock or bar at the bedroom door + accommodation for my dog without charge + I arrived at the same time as an Irish couple late and Vivienne bought us homemade soup and omelette (€ 5,-/person) + before there was a welcome drink + super friendly and helpful host + extensive English breakfast with homemade jam + even the small double room is large + comfortable bed + large bath + quiet location

A French country seat under English administration

A charming English lady welcomes us with a lot of kindness, the very clear and gigantic room in a green environment decorated with taste and a huge bathroom, what about breakfast with a varied choice and home made.

Charming Place and Accommodation

Located on the edge of the Saintonge and Poitou, in the verdant valley of the Boutonne, the Manor d'Angles is the residence of a charming English household, which opens up three beautiful rooms to guests eager to discover the area in good conditions. The Michelin card and the driver's open eye are enough to easily find the village of Blanzay and the manor, which is well marked. On the ground floor, the three rooms are spacious, elegant and comfortable, English style like the decoration, the garden is a delightful one, and extends with gardens and gardens leaving the kitchen that will offer us the most beautiful products.
