loved almost every part of this experience and stay. The beds were very comfy and great atmosphere in the communal areas. To improve the shower issues need to be looked into as currently they leak and are a bit untidy. However overall would book again.

Amsterdam lodgeeeeee

A great and memorable experience overall. Having stayed over for 2 nights during my time in Amsterdam I can only recommend this sleeping accommodation. First off, the concept is a great idea and just works just so very well. Of course, while sharing a compartment with other guests may seem uncertain, I personally had a positive experience, as it appears to be a common sentiment among others as well...
Two key points stands out and worth highlighting here. First, the continuous kindness and attentiveness of the staff left a lasting impression while second, the outstanding cleanliness of both the sleeping areas and shower areas which was particularly appreciated.  
Besides, it's worth remembering that the Train Lodge is located quite a distance from Centraal Station. In my case, I was glad to have my own bicycle or there is a train stop that will take you there. 

A memorable experience 

Original place, clean, welcoming staff (thxs Roy!), all the necessary services, well located (metro, or bike). I read some complaints about the lack of space in the rooms..yes it's a sleeper train, not a palace..but comfortable

We slept here for 2 nights and it was really cozy. The staff were amazing and we even met a fellow dane. We also loved how it was really close to a train station which we had really good use of. The rooms were very small but we made it work. The hostel was right next to a trainstation so you could hear the trains a lot, but in some way it adds to the charm. The breakfast was good and made us full for the day. We would really recommend for anyone.

Lovely stay

What a great location and unique stay. The Train Lodge was very easy to get to from Schipol Airport by train and was in a super location to get into Central Amsterdam via the no. 19 tram. The accommodation was clean and welcoming. The staff are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. There is a small lounge/dining area where you can order soft drinks, hot drinks, beer and snacks. Shower rooms and toilets  are at both ends of the sleeping compartments. They were clean. Beds are supprisingly comfortable, wider than expected and the bunks are 3 tiers high. Compartments have aircon, plug sockets and a sink. Good value for money. 

Fantastic family stay in a novel location. 

We stayed 2 nights and at check in we were informed, that the heating has some issues and is going to be fixed. Unfortunately it wasn’t and our nights were really cold. It would have been a nice experience, in a fun way to stay, but sleeping with two blankets and still be freezing is not what we were looking for. 

Unique experience unfortunately without heating.

The idea of arranging the shelter inside a train could also be nice, but the implementation is impractical. There is not even a place to open the suitcase and the upper beds are very high and dangerous as there is not even a side, as well as the wobbly staircase to reach them. The rooms have more people who took, making it a struggle for the first arrival, they are without windows and there is a lot of closure smell. It is also full of dust and poor cleaning. The bathrooms are very small and few, if you want a shower that makes sense in the evening, I would not recommend it!

If I had slept on a working train I would have been more comfortable

Amazing, Excellent, Friendly, Knowledgeable, & Awesome are the 5 best words to describe this hostel. Very cool to sleep in an old sleeper train and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Located right next to Amsterdam Sloterdijk so very easy to get into the centre of town & even though it is adjacent to the train station the cars are very quiet. I will definitely be coming back to Train Lodge! Thanks to everyone for your hospitality and conversation!

One of the coolest hostels I’ve visited

Very good price ratio especially for Amsterdam, authentic accommodation, a little far from the city but 5 minutes from the city centre by train (which takes all 5 minutes).

That's great!

We were there for one night, the three of us, and we were thrilled with the exceptional accommodation. The service was very friendly and friendly. The shower and toilet were clean, just like our sleeping compartment and beds. Although the trains drove right behind us to the tracks, we got very little. On our next trip to Amsterdam, we will definitely be back again! As the price ratio was also right. We thank you for the special experience of sleeping :) Laura, Annabel and Kevin
